Google has worked with the National Security Agency (NSA) on various projects over the years. It is not clear exactly when the collaboration began, as the specific details of such partnerships are often kept confidential. However, there have been several instances where the collaboration between Google and the NSA has been publicly disclosed or reported on:

  • In 2010, it was revealed that Google had worked with the NSA on a project called “Project Aurora” to investigate a series of cyber attacks that targeted the company’s infrastructure.
  • In 2013, Edward Snowden, a former NSA contractor, leaked documents that showed that the NSA had worked with Google and other tech companies on various projects, including the MUSCULAR program, which involved intercepting data from fiber optic cables.
  • In 2016, it was reported that Google and the NSA had signed a “memorandum of agreement” to work together on cybersecurity issues.

It is worth noting that while Google has worked with the NSA on certain projects, the extent and nature of the collaboration is not fully known, and it is not clear if the company is currently working with the NSA.
